Webmaster Resources
Anybody can surf the web. In fact, just about anybody can become a webmaster
as well. However, putting up a web page is the easy part! Do you have any web sites? Are you earning Internet revenues? Wait, fear not, I won't ask you to buy an e-book and I won't ask you to give me your email address either.
What I will do is tell you a lot of things I've learned about setting up web sites. Since I've been building web sites for more than a decade now, I've run across a lot of good and a lot of bad. At the very least, I can save you a lot of wasted time. So, I suggest bookmarking this page and then choosing topics from the navigation menu on the left to get all my tips, tricks and tutorials.
The Number One Secret
However, I will tell you right up front what the number one secret is to earning Internet income. Quality traffic. That's right, that is the number one thing required to turn your ideas into reality. Everyone building a web site is fighting for the same quality traffic that you are hoping for.
Let's define quality traffic as that which generates more revenue for your projects than it costs you to purchase. Obviously, free traffic is the best, because it costs you nothing except bandwidth, but it is very difficult to get sizeable quantities of free traffic these days. I'd advise you to maximize free traffic without wasting your time and money in the process.

Getting to Work
Let's get started. First, in case you don't already have a web site or a hosting provider, here are some suggestions:
Develop an Idea
Do you already know what you want to do? If not, what do you know about? I know about all kinds of Internet things... so that is what I do. What is your career? What hobbies to you have? What games do you play? What kind of porn do you like? If you don't already have an idea, just pick something that a lot of people might also be interested in.
Find a Host
Okay, there are a million places to host a web site. Why don't you experiment with a free hosting provider at first? This way, you won't have to spend any money because, honestly, your very first web site is likely to be pretty useless anyway. If you need a suggestion, you can host a free page on GeoCities. Alternately, a free blog from Blogger.com might even serve your needs. I use GoDaddy.com for my own paid domain and hosting needs. They are very economical.

Define a Marketing Strategy
Once you've chosen a theme and built a web site about it, you should search out revenue generating ideas. Without getting too detailed at this point, you'll want to find companies that offer products or services related to your topic. If you've chosen a popular idea for your web site you should find that many companies have some type of affiliate program that you can join. Of course, if you already have your own business you could always promote that.
Ready, Set, Go
Now, depending on your current level of knowledge, pick topics on the left that interest you. I'll give you all the secrets I've picked up in a short and condensed format. As well, you'll also be presented with lists of sponsored resources related to the topic at hand. Believe it or not, just reading their sales pitches should clue you in to all kinds of important issues you may not have thought of before.
Hopefully these introductory webmaster tutorials and other associated topics will be helpful. Have fun! |
