Web Affiliate Tutorial
Unless you've been living under a rock, by now you now that many companies offer affiliate programs. Generally, these programs pay you for some specific activity taken by a prospect or customer, such as the completion of a purchase for some product or service. In return, as an affiliate, you will be credited for that action. If you are able to generate a lot of these events you can make serious money.
Perhaps the easiest way to get involved in an affiliate program is to complete your planned web site and then sign up with a network, such as Commission Junction or ShareASale. Once you have created an account within this network, you can apply to many different affiliate programs. Once approved by them, you may earn income by including their links on your web site.
However, large established programs like Commission Junction, can be more difficult for the new webmaster to join. This is perhaps due to the fact that initial web sites often do not obtain much traffic or generate much by way of sales. Other types of affiliate publisher programs exist:
Search Results
One of the most prevalent and effective methods of earning revenue on the Internet is of course displaying relevant search results. You may want to look into searchfeed.com as I've used them for years and they have always paid on time. Also, on the right, ads are displayed using Google Adsense.
Amazon.com
One of the earliest affiliate programs, and still one that works very well, is the Amazon Associates Program . Sign up for their program and you can sell all kinds of products and merchandise, as well as topic related books, of course. You can see that I'm doing this myself, by pointing out books that may be helpful to you.
Other Affiliate Programs
There are simply too many affiliate programs to try to review them all for you. Look at the items offered via the advertising on this page or simply do some searches for affiliate programs reviews. The large majority of review sites exist simply to refer you into the programs offered, but do beware of multi-tier affiliate programs as they have been fraught with problems over the years. |
